We Believe

What we believe

Though we are in a perverse world and in shifting times, we are rooted in the eternal truth of the kingdom as found in the holy scripture. Here at Hope Alive Ministry…

We believe in the accuracy, truth, authority, and power of the Bible, the Holy Scriptures (both Old and New Testaments), as the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and is the complete revelation of God’s will and plan for the salvation of mankind, and is applicable to our everyday lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the creator of everything. God exists in three persons – God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit – each distinct, yet all of One essence. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ to be completely God, and completely man having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless and exemplary life in the flesh; died on the cross, the final and complete sacrifice for our sins. He rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and advocate. He is the only one who can reconcile us back to God, thus bringing people who are far away from God back into the right relationship with God.

We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ, convict men of their sins, reform the believing sinner, indwell, guide believers into all truth, instruct, and empower the believer to be more like Christ.

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God to have fellowship with God, but man fell into sin and is therefore separated from God and His purpose for mankind. Man cannot establish a right relationship with God through his own effort; only through transformation by the Holy Spirit can man secure salvation and spiritual life.

We believe that man was created to exist forever. Man will surely either exist eternally separated from God through sin or eternally united with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is a life in Hell, and to be eternally united with God is a life in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

We believe that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was the final and complete sacrifice for the sins of humanity, and the only basis for justification and salvation for everyone who believes. Salvation is only for those who accept and place their faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation cannot be earned through man’s efforts, it is a free gift from God, and that is Grace.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised. There will be a bodily resurrection of all who died; of the believer to eternal blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and eternal separation from God and conscious punishment.

We believe that those who have placed their faith in Christ are knit together in one Body, the Church, a distinctive community of faith expressed in local clusters, engaging culture on every front with God’s hope and love. The true Church is composed of all such persons, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been renewed by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head.

We believe that immersion baptism in the water is a symbol of the death to sin and resurrection to a new life that occurs shortly after accepting Christ as one’s personal Savior. All genuine believers and only believers should partake in the Lord’s Supper, which is a commemoration ritual that memorializes the death of the Lord Jesus Christ in a solemn and symbolic manner – the only true way that He wants to be remembered.
